MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Skinner’s Nov. 10-11 Discovery auction will feature a special offering of studio artwork, comprising American and European paintings, prints, sculpture and works on paper, all affordably estimated to sell to the highest bidder. Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.com.
Among the 500 featured artworks in the opening session, commencing at 2 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday, Nov. 10, are several paintings by Boston-area and New England artists, including Blair Lent, Nord Bowlen and Charles Peter Demetropoulos.
The Thursday, Nov. 11 session is devoted to Americana in its many forms, including country, painted and formal American 18th, 19th and 20th century furniture. The grouping includes a collection of Martha and Ralph Cahoon painted furniture.
Also to cross the auction block are American, British and Chinese ceramics, pattern glass, art glass, metalwares, quilts, coverlets, textiles and rugs, and all manner of decorative accessories.

Discovery auctions are held monthly at Skinner Marlborough. Free and open to the public, the auctions offer the general public the rare opportunity to learn about art, antiques, and collectibles at auction, in a relaxed and non-intimidating auction setting.
