LOS ANGELES – Fans and admirers of the beloved actress and singer Connie Stevens may bid on a stunning array of jewelry, clothing, memorabilia and other items from her personal collection when Abell Auction Co. presents its Celebrity Collections sale on Thursday, April 6 starting at 9 am Pacific time. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.
The online sale also will offer one-of-a-kind items from the Los Angeles estate of actress Louise Fletcher, who won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role as Nurse Ratched in the 1975 film One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and also the Santa Monica residence of actor and director David Edwin Birney, who is most well-known for starring in the 1970s television series Serpico and Bridget Loves Bernie.
Highlighted items from the Los Angeles residence of Stevens include: a hoop skirt worn by Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O’Hara in the 1939 movie Gone with The Wind, estimated at $20,000-$30,000; a 14K white gold, platinum, diamond, emerald and onyx brooch with an estimate of $3,000-$5,000; an untitled Joan Miro work, estimated at $800-$1,200; a Native American dress that has an estimate of $300-$400; a Billy the Kid shadow box, estimated at $200-$300; and a Tom Brady-signed Patriots jersey, estimated at $300-$400.
Collectibles from the Los Angeles estate of Fletcher include her One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest script, estimated at $600-$800, and her nurse’s log book, estimated at $200-$300; a collection of awards with an estimate of $400-$600; and a Myron G. Barlow work titled Seated Female Nude and estimated at $500-$700.
A Mason mechanical bank carrying an estimate of $1,000-$2,000 will be among the unique items offered from the Santa Monica estate of David Edwin Birney, as well as production scripts from the animated sitcom The Simpsons that are together estimated at $200-$300.
