NEW YORK – Nearly 350 lots of decorative arts, exquisite finery for the home, are offered in an online auction that will be conducted by Jasper52 on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Bid absentee or live online exclusively through LiveAuctioneers. Sterling silver accounts for some of the most valuable lots in the sale. A Charles II porringer (above) made in 1668 by a London silversmith is a fine example and is expected to sell for up to $2,000. Also from 17th century England is a sterling silver Charles II tankard valued at more than $20,000. The 8-inch-high flat-top tankard has a hinged lid and bears the mark “EG” (probably Edward Gladwin).
A 2-foot-tall marble head that depicts Alexander the Great dates to the 19th century. This finely carved work is from an Italian collection and valued at $5,500-$7,000.
Numerous porcelain objects are offered, none move lovely than a pair of Royal Dux statues depicting beautiful young women (est. $1,500-$2,000).
Old World art glass is another strong suit in the sale. A fine example is a pair of Moser Pokal covered vases from the turn of the 20th century (est. $2,000-$2,500).
The auction also offers some modern pieces such as a Baccarat-style crystal stork valued at $1,500-$2,000.
The Jasper52 Exquisite Decorative Arts auction will begin Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. Eastern time.
