Tiffany lamps stand out in Sarasota Estate Auction Jan. 23-24

SARASOTA, Fla. – Sarasota Estate Auction’s next auction, Jan. 23-24, is headlined by the collection of fashion designer Adrienne Vittadini and a selection of Tiffany Studios lamps. The January sale also will feature and highly prized art and antiques. Bid absentee or live online through LiveAuctioneers.

Adrienne Vittadini is among the most prominent designers of the last 40 years, creating personal articles for women’s fashions and home décor. Her work has adorned front covers and pages of Veranda, Town & Country and many more fashion and design publications. Splitting her time between Sarasota, Florida, and Southampton, New York, she and her husband Gianluigi are reducing their collections through Sarasota Estate Auction’s January sale.

Gathered for this sale are a pair of wall coverings, original watercolored floral design pieces; 19th century French and Art Nouveau furniture; fine art; and smaller decorative accessories.

A collection of eight Tiffany Studios lamps from an Irvington, New York, home, will create great international interest in the sale.

This collection also included a tall-case Tiffany clock in excellent working order.

Artwork from listed artists will include Jon Corbino, Joan Miro, Daniel Authouart, David Burliuk, Dorothy Eugenie Brett, Mabel May Woodward, Hayley Lever, Joe Selby, Howard Russell Butler, Hildegarde Hume Hamilton, Ben Galos, Hector Moncayo, H. Khai, Alex Katz, Itzchak Tarkay and Frederick Remington.

Another Jane Peterson (American, 1876-1965) artwork is in this sale, prompted by the success of those sold in Sarasota Estate Auction’s November sale.

There is also a Willem de Kooning, which the artist painted on a page of the New York Times dated April 11, 1968.

Italian-born Jon Corbino (1904-1964) is considered an American artist as he was trained here and his work was popular in Sarasota during his lifetime. His work is highly regarded for the polo scenes and other live subjects. Also offered is a numbered color lithograph by Joan Miro (Spanish, 1893-1983).

Silver and fine jewelry have become a standard at Sarasota Estate Auction’s sales. This upcoming sale will feature a Mexican 950 sterling silver tea set by Prieto as well as a Bulgari necklace from the Monete Collection.
