MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — Skinner Auctioneers will host an online auction of Sports Memorabilia, from December 7-15. The highlights of the sale include numerous sports cards from the longtime collection of a passionate Boston sports fan, who celebrates the elite players in baseball, football, basketball and hockey. View the fully illustrated catalog on LiveAuctioneers.

Skinner is successfully breaking into sports card sales, offering the most desired and highest valued football card – Tom Brady’s 2000 Contenders Championship Rookie Ticket, autographed by the future first Hall of Fame ballot quarterback. Only 100 of these cards were produced and they have sold for a little more than $200,000 to more than $3 million. The Brady ticket has been graded by the PSA and is estimated at $300,000-$500,000.

Skinner will be offering a total of 34 Tom Brady cards in the December 15 auction, including a 2000 Playoff Contenders #144 Tom Brady Autographed Rookie Card, PSA Authentic, estimated at $10,000-$15,000; a 2000 SPX Tom Brady #130 Rookie Card, PSA NM-MT 8, estimated at $10,000-$15,000; a 2005 Tom Brady Leaf Limited Material Monikers Auto Jersey 12/15, PSA NM-MT 8, estimated at $8,000-$12,000; 2004 Playoff Absolute Jersey Memorabilia Tom Brady Autograph, 81/194, PSA Mint 9, estimated at $4,000-$6,000; and a 2000 Press Pass #3 Tom Brady Rookie Auto, PSA Mint 9, estimated at $600-$800.

Basketball cards are also well represented in this sale, including two Lebron James rookie cards. The first is a 2003 Topps Chrome Xfractor Lebron James #111, PSA Mint 9, estimated at $50,000-$75,000. Only 220 copies were produced, and this example sets off the greatest player of the 2000’s with bright white borders and sharp corners. In addition, Skinner is offering a 2003 Topps Chrome Refractor Lebron James Rookie Card #111, considered James’ most important rookie parallel in PSA 8, estimated at $1,500-$2,500.

Two of Dwyane Wade’s rookie cards are offered in the sale as well. Wade won two NBA finals with James in Miami (2012-2013) and one in 2006 with Shaquille O’Neal. The cards being offered include a 2003 Upper Deck S.P. Authentic Dwyane Wade SP Signatures #DY-A Auto Rookie Card PSA 9, estimated at $2,000-$3,000; and a 2003 Upper Deck S.P. Authentic Dwyane Wade SP Signatures #DY-A Auto Rookie Card PSA 8, estimated at $4,000-$6,000.

Older sports cards are also featured in the sale, including two examples of 1980 Topps Larry Bird/Julius Erving/Magic Johnson tri-card, considered to be Bird’s and Johnson’s top rookie. These are estimated at $2,000-$3,000 and $1,500-$2,500.

Re-immortalized in the 2020 ESPN Documentary The Last Dance, Michael Jordan’s memorabilia and cards have soared more than one of his legendary Air Jordan dunks in the past year, and his rookie cards are among the most desirable. The sale boasts a 1986 Fleer Jordan Sticker, PSA 9 and estimated at $10,000-$15,000.
