Turner Auctions + Appraisals selling dolls, teddy bears July 29

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Turner Auctions + Appraisals will auction a collection of European and American dolls and toys on Sunday, July 29. Offering over 130 lots from one collector, the sale features dolls from Italy, England, Switzerland and America; teddy bears by Steiff, Hermann, Merrythought and others; Disney collectibles; and marionettes, puppets and other toys. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.
Among the doll collection are those from Lenci (below), R. John Wright, Chad Valley, Wendy Lawton, Norah Wellings, Sasha, Anili and Golly, plus some vintage dolls.
Turner Auctions + Appraisals begins its online auction on Sunday, July 29, at 10:30 a.m. Pacific Time/1:30 p.m. Eastern.
Here are some highlights of the July 29 sale:
– Lot 36: Lenci felt doll in excellent condition with the original box. Estimate: $150-$250.
– Lot 57: A group of three Steiff teddy bears, two Jackie 1953 replica, one Dicky 1930 replica.
Estimate: $150-$250.
– Lot 1: R. John Wright all-felt Little Red Riding Hood doll in excellent condition. Estimate: $200-$400.
– Lot 124: Disney collectibles: Cinderella and the Prince porcelain dolls (below). Estimate: $150-$250.

– Lot 78: A grouping of five vintage stuffed toy monkeys. Estimate: $50-$70.
– Lot 21: One Chad Valley fabric doll, one Dean’s Rag Book doll and an I. Magnin & Co. doll. Estimate: $200-$400.
– Lot 81: Disney collectibles include a Pinocchio statue. Estimate: $80-$100.

– Lot 27: Three Norah Wellings cloth dolls, each with a label: “Made in England by Norah Wellings.” Estimate: $150-$250.
