HOUSTON – The Revolving Vault will be holding their first Unique Fall Finds from The Vault auction Saturday, Nov.10, beginning at noon CST. LiveAuctioneers.com will provide Internet live bidding.

With the recent grand opening, The Revolving Vault is excited to welcome bidders to view and bid on an eclectic array of inventory from around the world. Almost all of their items are one-of- a-kind, which are sure to tempt those searching for both the unique and the beautiful. This auction’s offerings will include 400-plus lots include fine art, jewelry, accessories, as well as a vast assortment of collectibles featuring coins, militaria, sports memorabilia and pop culture.

The Unique Fall Finds from The Vault auction will include an array of fine art including abstract, expressionism, pop art, Native-American, realism, photography and animation from artists including Marianne Levy, Blake Ballard, Alexander Calder, Brody Neuenschwander and Bev Doolittle. Ballard is an emerging mixed-media artist from Atlanta, who creates portraits of pop culture icons and brings them to life through depth with his crystal glitter technique. Ballard has studied under the likes of Richard Rowley, a famous Hollywood abstract artist in the early 1980s. Ballard has been stunning audiences with his life-size icons including his work Ray Charles (est. $2,500-$3,500), which will be up for bid on Saturday.

Marianne Levy’s work Monkey and Bite Me (est. $500-$750) will also be among the ranks of Ballard. Her sculptures are an amazingly vivid mix of human, nature and animal imagery, focusing on gender, sexuality, reappropriation of symbols and myths and mental illness.

An expansive collection of Brody Neuenschwander’s work will also be present. Neuenschwander is an artist originally from Houston. who currently resides in Bruges, Belgium. A graduate and scholar of Princeton his background is in medieval manuscript illumination, calligraphy, text art and installation art. One of his pieces The Eyes Have It has been featured in Le Jardin des Mots an artist book printed in Paris featuring the works of calligraphy artists. This piece is a collage of rice paper with antique documents on Rives BFK printmaking paper, Chinese ink, gouache and applied doll’s eyes (est. $12,000-$15,000).

“We have so many unique items in so many different categories it’s hard to select which items to feature,” said Whitney Taylor from The Revolving Vault. “Many of these items have a mass appeal to bidders that have been collecting for years and those that are new to bidding and want to purchase something unique.”

The “Unique Fall Finds from The Vault” session will also host a large amount of glass and pottery. Among these items are famous names that include works by Galle, Fenton, Hull, Wedgwood, McCoy, Murano Glass, JW Fite, Indiana Heirloom, Waterford, Lalique and Mont Joye. Carnival, hand-blown and Depression glass, as well as fine cut-crystal, antique stoneware and handmade pottery will be sold. A Teco buttressed bowl in matte green glaze, created by the American Terra Cotta Tile and Ceramic Co. (est. $2,000-$4,000) and a 1920s French Galle cameo landscape vase depicts an arboreal scene in green upon a natural ground which sets the stage for elegant leaves (est. $1,500-$3,000) are just two stunning pieces in a series of great American, French and English glass and pottery.

The auction also will feature a rare pair of photos of Marilynn Monroe. These framed reprints of movie stills are from the unfinished movie Something’s Got to Give filmed in May 1962. The photos were taken in a scene where Marilyn jumped into the water wearing a nude bikini and reappeared completely nude. This is one of the last photos taken of Marilyn as two months after filming began she met her untimely death, which continues to intrigue and mystify Monroe followers. Measuring approximately 11 inches wide by 15 1/2 inches high, the set is valued at $1,500-$3,000.

Other pop culture pieces in this collection include signed sports jerseys, collectible board games, Elvis collectibles and Disney-related memorabilia including not only a “Viz-a-Ball” bowling ball, but also a 1930s Mickey Mouse “Bubble Buster” by Kilgore (est. $250-$350).

A stunning array of Asian artwork including detailed bone carvings, high-quality jade, ivory and stone figures will be available for bidding. Among these items is a jade horse measuring a stunning 16 inches high (est. $1,250-$1,500).

Bidders doing early Christmas shopping might want to take a look at the collection of jewelry including a 89.10-carat genuine ruby and sapphire necklace, which includes solid platinum plating over silver mounting, measuring 14 1/2 inches long. The necklace includes a full GLA appraisal at $42,358 (est. $7,500-$10,000). A vintage Chanel handbag with tassel and long strap is a fashion statement piece as well (est. $1,750-$3,500).

Men are not to be left out either with an assortment of timepieces and glasses including a Breitling Bentley Flying B watch (est. $12,000-$15,000) and Tag Heuer Kirium watch (est. $1,000-$1,500).

Some of the most unusual pieces are brass fishing reels that date back to the early 1900s from the United Kingdom. Among those are a P.D. Malloch Maker Perth 1 Model (est. $500-$1,000) and W. Garden Aberdeen brass fishing reel from Scotland (est. $500-$1,000).

Another featured item will be a set of eight 6-inch sterling silver Sanborn bread and butter plates, circa 1936. Total weight is 54.3 troy ounces or 1688.7 grams (est. $2,250-$3,250).
