NORTHBROOK, Ill. – Merchandise valued at more than $200,000 will be auctioned during Universal Live’s semiannual ‘One Dollar’ auction to take place on Friday, July 23. Bidding opens at 1 p.m. Central Time, with Internet live bidding through LiveAuctioneers.com.
The auction features more than 500 lots, each with an opening bid of only $1. There are no reserves; it is an absolute auction.
Universal Live’s auctioneers, Martin Shape, explained, “This is a semiannual customer appreciation auction. We have selected items from every collectible category.”
Categories include: U.S. and foreign coins and paper money, signed and original fine art and sculptures, military items, sports memorabilia, animation cels and art, advertising signs, comics, shot glasses, toys, dolls, cameras, pottery, antiques, swords, art posters, jewelry, figurines, neons and more.
“In December of 2009, we had our last semiannual dollar auction, which caused a frenzy of bidding,” Shape said. “I would recommend all bidders get their bids in early, as they will be notified of any out-bids and can then re-bid prior to the actual hammer date and time.”
