One of the top artworks in the sale is Lot 107, a Pino Daeni (Italian, b. 1939-) hand-signed giclee on canvas titled Early Morning. Born Giuseppe D’Angelico, Daeni became one of the foremost book cover illustrators, with more than 1600 covers to his credit, before turning to landscape and human-figure painting. The work to be auctioned is from an edition of 500 and measures 16 by 12 inches. Its presale estimate is $1,750-$2,300.
Lot 124 is a Simon Bull (British, b. 1958-) hand-signed giclee titled I Heart Minnie Mouse. Bull was born in Britain in 1958, but spent much of his childhood and adolescent years traveling in England, Continental Europe, South America and China. It was through this exposure to the cultural centers of Europe, the fringes of tropical rainforests, and classical Chinese brushwork that Bull developed his unique style and bold use of colors. The 24-inch-square giclee has a Disney copyright and is estimated at $675-$850. Other artists represented in the sale include Sam Park and Robert Wyland.
Lot 4 is a wonderful 24in yellow antique jade dragon boat. Completely handmade of genuine jade, it is expected to make $475-$650 on auction day.
Among the featured fine jewelry items to be offered is Lot 7, a 22.19 carat emerald and diamond 18K gold bracelet designed by Dana Y. An exquisite piece of timeless style, it could reach $1,800-$2,250 at auction.
The jewelry selection is vast and includes 14K gold rings (with certificates) as well as 18K gold-plated bracelets, earrings and necklaces.
