NEW YORK – Designers’ interpretations of flora and fauna are featured in a premium jewelry auction presented by Jasper52 on Tuesday, March 27. Leading the menagerie is a Van Cleef & Arpels 18K white gold butterfly ring (above) from the Flying Beauties collection, featuring 131 round brilliant cut diamonds weighing 3.11 carats. A truly dazzling and harmonious jewelry creation showcasing Van Cleef & Arpels’ astonishing craftsmanship, this ring currently retails for $41,800. The auction estimate is $38,000-$46,000. The ring size is 4.5; it cannot be sized. Trendsetting for over a hundred years, Van Cleef & Arpels has combined unparalleled artistry and scrupulous gem selection to create some of the world’s most coveted designs.
Estro of Italy enters an 18K white gold diamond and onyx seahorse brooch (below) in the 122-lot auction. This whimsical seahorse is finely crafted and adorned with onyx and approximately 4.5 carats of round brilliant-cut diamonds of G color VS1-2 clarity. The brooch is 2½ inches high by one-half inch wide and has a $7,000-$8,000 estimate.
From Boucheron, the Paris jewelry and watches house founded in 1858 by Frederic Boucheron, comes an 18K yellow gold dog ring. This size 5.75 ring has a $1,100-$1,500 estimate.
Flora is represented by a pair of Buccellatti leaf earrings in 18K yellow gold. These beautiful earrings exemplify Buccellati’s exquisite craftsmanship with an enchanting design and Florentine finish. For nearly a century Buccellati has formed a bold and recognizable style referencing the goldsmiths of the renaissance that has stood the test of time. Pioneers in the art of texture-engraving have created pieces that are crafted to look like flowers, leaves, lace and silk. At least four lots featuring fancy yellow diamonds will go up for bid in the Jasper52 auction, including a pair of earrings set in 18K white gold. Its fancy yellow diamonds total 4.02 carats. Each earring measures a half-inch square.
Also from Boucheron is an 18K yellow gold diamond ring of 1.05 carats. This size 6.25 ring, estimated at $7,000-$8,000, cannot be sized.
A finely crafted 18K white gold bracelet with 21 links set with 1,218 fine white diamonds is marked “18kBA,” possibly for Balloc & Co., Providence. The sparkling bracelet from the 1950s has a $36,000-$43,000 estimate.
