SHERMAN OAKS, Calif. – Van Eaton Galleries has announced “The Art of Entertainment, a Popular Culture & Disneyland” auction to take place on Saturday, May 4. The Art of Entertainment auction will celebrate important moments from television, film, Disneyland and more. Bid absentee or live online through LiveAuctioneers.
Highlights of this auction include original artwork used in the creation of movie posters, rare artifacts from the original Star Wars trilogy, concept artwork from classic Disney films, vintage toys featuring popular Saturday morning cartoon characters, rare animation cels from The Simpsons, and original artwork from Peanuts creator Charles Schulz and children’s author Dr. Seuss.
Also included in this collection are one-of-a-kind artifacts from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, including a hand-crafted wooden Nautilus model that was handled and used by Walt Disney himself to promote the film.
Disneyland has had a significant impact on popular culture, and this collection includes hand-silkscreened vintage attraction posters, ride props, rare cast member items and original concept paintings.
