MOUNT CRAWFORD, Va. – Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates will conduct their annual winter Variety auction on Saturday, Feb. 18, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Eastern. The sale features the Dorothy and Marshall Jenkins estate collection of Culpeper, Va., along with material from a Virginia institution.

Internet live bidding will be provided by LiveAuctioneers.com. More than 560 lots will be offered for sale without reserves. The complete catalog can be accessed at jeffreysevans.com or through LiveAuctioneers.

Highlighting the auction will be the Jenkins’ collection of 200-plus pieces of carnival glass including a rare Dugan Farmyard bowl, hard-to-find red and Amberina bowls, many desirable plates, and an extensive selection of the Grape and Cable pattern.

In addition the sale will contain a wide selection of Victorian furniture including nine bookcases, barrel and S-roll desks, a gilt-wood mirror (94 x 71 inches), many marble-top stands, along with a variety of parlor, dining and bedroom furnishings. In addition there will be Arts & Crafts including rare Gustav Stickley willow/wicker furniture, E.A. Clore custom furniture from Madison, Va., and an unusual set of six oak chairs with Battleship Olympia pressed backs.

A child’s “Blue Grass” farm wagon in original paint and fine condition will be sold along with figural cast-iron hitching posts. A collection of more than 30 copper and brass kettles from 1-gallon to 40-gallon sizes is unusual.

Also available are country accessories including graniteware, blue and white salt glaze, wooden boxes of all types, and a large selection of mantel and wall clocks and Victorian and Aladdin lighting.

Additional glassware includes more than 40 pieces of Heisey Plantation pattern. There are also a selection of china including R.S. Prussia and Blue Willow, sets of sterling silver flatware, gold and silver coins, and pocket watches.

Company president Jeff Evans commented about the Jenkins collection: “Dorothy and Marshall were longtime customers and dear friends, both as passionate collectors and respected dealers. This will be the third sale that we have conducted for the estate and all have been comprised of material out of their home.” Evans added, “The shop contents will be sold at a later date and will likely take several auctions to completely liquidate. They amassed an amazing quantity of material over the years and enjoyed every aspect of the business—especially the buying part.”
