Vintage jewelry and accessories await in Fellows’ Sept. 14 auction

BIRMINGHAM, UK – A stunning selection of vintage jewelry and accessories will be offered by the British auction house Fellows on Monday, September 14th. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

Within this auction, Fellows will present two beautiful Child & Child enamel butterfly brooches with maker’s cases. This maker is a favorite with collectors of late 19th and early 20th century jewelry. The company had royal patronage, listing, among others, Queen Victoria as one of their customers.

Here is one of the brooches, executed in rich sapphire and turquoise hues.

There are some interesting pieces of Burmese amber in this auction, as well. Lot 424 is a natural Burmese amber carving of a parrot perched on a Japanese pine tree branch. Its coloration goes from a stunning orange to red. Take a look at this eye-catching piece:

The Sept. 14 sale includes one of the best selections of Scandinavian designer jewelry ever to be presented by Fellows. The pieces are seen as Lots 859 through 888. Designers include Georg Jensen, Hans Hansen, David Andersen and Lapponia by Bjorn Weckstrom.

There are also some exciting designs by Wiwen Nilsson, a Scandinavian designer whose pieces are very popular with collectors of Scandinavian designer jewelry.
