Vintage lighting leading off Jeffrey Evans glass sale July 26-27

MOUNT CRAWFORD, Va. – Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates will conduct a two-day cataloged auction of 19th and 20th century glass and lighting on July 26 and 27 beginning at 9:30 a.m. both days. The sale will contain nearly 1,400 lots. Bid absentee or live online through LiveAuctioneers.
Friday’s lighting session will feature the collection of Eileen and the late Herb White, Prescott, Ariz.; part one of the Joe Cesarini estate collection, Ridgely, Md.; and selections from the Don Peterson collection, La Grange, Ill.
The sale consists of a wide array of lighting devices from the 1820s to 1920s including whale oil and fluid, early kerosene, fine Argands, student and parlor, fine hanging lamps, Victorian opalescent, miniature and junior banquet lamps, piano lamps, Aladdin lamps, smoke bells, fine shades, solar and other parts.
Session two will feature the second part the Marcia C. Shaffer collection, Medford, N.J.; the open salt collection of Catharine and Richard Hubbard, Eastville, Va.; and property deaccessioned by the Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, N.Y., to benefit the collections fund.
The catalog is filled with all types including opalescent, collection of toothpick holders, Amberina and Hobbs; European glass including collection of Moser, fancy stemware including Murano; a collection of studio glass including Charles Lotton, Patricia Davidson and Kosta Boda; 20th century glass including Fry Foval, Pairpoint, a collection of Fenton; collection of open salts including silver, lacy and other early pressed, later pressed glass, cut glass and ceramic; Early American Pattern Glass; American brilliant cut glass and more.
