BROOKLYN, N.Y. – On Sunday, June 12, starting at 4 pm Eastern time, SJ Auctioneers will conduct a 219-lot sale titled Silverware, Collectible Toys, Figurines, and Scarves. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

The auction house is known for its superlative selection of vintage and antique toys, and the June 12 sale upholds that reputation. Leading the generous selection is an undated pressed steel Tonka car carrier, No. 2850, with its original box. This prize carries an estimate of $1,000-$2,000.

Another standout among the toys on offer is an all-original Kenton ice delivery truck dating to circa 1927-1931. Described as being extremely rare, the toy measures 6in long and is estimated at $500-$1,000.

Also from Kenton is a scarce toy from the same general era, an all-original cast iron horse-drawn wagon that spans more than 15in. The lot notes state that “There is some minor paint loss. The axel on the wagon is very slightly bent.” It is estimated at $1,000-$1,500.

Another noted SJ Auctioneers specialty is Herend porcelain, and choice pieces appear in the June 12 lineup. Certain to be fiercely fought for is a large Herend Guild Kingdom Classic 2011 Dove of Peace in the platinum fishnet pattern. The hand-painted porcelain work depicts the bird with an olive branch, perched on a globe. It is described as being in “Perfect Brand New MINT Condition with no chips, cracks or repairs,” and it comes with its original box. In addition, the lot notes declare the “pictures, in no way, does this figurine justice.” The Herend dove has an estimate of $3,000-$6,000.
