SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Vogt Galleries will conduct a Texas Art Auction on Saturday, Oct. 26. The auction presents 160 curated artworks created by esteemed artists from Texas or pieces that highlight Texas as a subject. The sale includes original paintings and pottery by over 70 preeminent artists, fresh-to-market from private collections and estates throughout Texas. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.
The sale features paintings by premier Texas artists Julian Onderdonk (above), Porfirio Salinas, G. Harvey, Robert Wood, Dawson Dawson-Watson, Jose Vives-Atsara and many more. Included in the varied subject matter are iconic landscapes featuring the sun-drenched Texas Hill Country, poignant West Texas studies and vivid Western cowboy scenes.
In addition to classic Texan landscapes, the collection presents artworks depicting important landmarks of San Antonio, stirring still lifes and intriguing ceramic objects.
Vogt Galleries is proud to offer a significant number of female artists in this sale, including Exa Wall, Eloise Polk McGill and Josephine Oliver Travis.
The auction will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, beginning at noon Central time.
