DALLAS – On Thursday, December 8, just in time for the holidays, Heritage Auctions presents its Luxury Accessories Signature® Auction, an event filled with some of the most coveted handbags from Hermes, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Goyard. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.
Hermes bags continue to be in demand, and the December 8 auction offers a bevy of beauties from the French fashion powerhouse. One of the most sought-after offerings is a 35cm Hermes So Black alligator Birkin, estimated at $60,000-$80,000. With its matching black leather and hardware, the monochromatic Jean Paul Gaultier-era bag is as sleek and chic as they come. “This timeless, classic Birkin is the epitome of elegance and sophistication,” said Heritage Auctions’ Director of Luxury Accessories, Private Sales & The Boutique, Diane D’Amato. “Making the So Black even more special, the design has never been reissued, and as far as we know, Hermes won’t be making it again.”
Other must-have Hermes handbags include a limited-edition Colormatic 25cm nata, chai and cuivre swift leather Kelly, estimated at $20,000-$24,000. Unlike the minimalist So Black Birkin, this bag, which features a handle wrapped in a multicolored silk Twilly scarf, takes a playful approach to style. Another great Hermes find on offer is a striking two-toned limited edition 25cm bleu egee toile Goeland and navy swift leather Hermes Birkin, which is estimated at $30,000-$40,000.
For trendwatchers, this auction is all about the small stuff: “Mini bags are still the rage,” D’Amato said. “This has been the trend for the past few years. So we’re thrilled to offer a wonderful selection of petite bags in this auction.”
Though they are small in size, these bags are big on style. For proof, look no further than the brilliantly bold Hermes rose extreme alligator mini Kelly, estimated at $50,000-$60,000; the sensational blue hydra Epsom leather mini Kelly, estimated at $12,000-$16,000; the lovely and understated mauve Sylvestre Epsom leather mini Kelly, estimated at $12,000-$16,000; and the Etain Epsom leather mini Kelly, estimated at $12,000-$16,000.
Chanel gets in on the mini trend, too, with two incredible sets, one in black and one in pink, each featuring four mini bags with a quilted trunk. And for something more festive, there’s the Chanel green and black Mosaic sequin mini flap bag with aged gold hardware, estimated at $6,000-$8,000. “With its brilliant sequins and classic Chanel woven chain strap, this bag looks luxuriously vintage while still being chic and modern,” D’Amato said.
The auction also offers an assortment of incredibly sought-after Goyard bags that rarely come to auction. Highlights include the Goyardine green Saigon Souple mini top handle bag, estimated at $4,000-$6,000, and the yellow Goyardine Bellechasse Biaude PM tote bag, which is estimated at $1,500-$2,500.
A Heritage Luxury Accessories auction wouldn’t be complete without a lavish selection of Louis Vuitton trunks. On offer on December 8 is a stunning silver monogram titanium jewelry trunk, estimated at $40,000-$60,000, and Louis Vuitton’s SS21 Virgil Abloh malle courrier lozine 110 steamer trunk, which has an estimate of $80,000-$100,000. This extremely limited-edition graffiti trunk is the perfect embodiment of Abloh’s visionary creativity, legendary street culture and high fashion aesthetic.
The auction also features a phenomenal selection of jewelry, including a Chanel white and diamond J12 watch with 46 diamonds totaling 1.21 carats, estimated at $10,000-$12,000, as well as home goods such as an Hermes set of 12 orange and white Mosaique au 24 Limoges porcelain with an estimate of $5,000-$7,000, as well as Hermes cashmere blankets and pillows.
