DONCASTER, England – Wilkinsons Auctioneers will sell the Rintoul Collection on Sunday, April 28. The collection, which comes from a period house in Suffolk, ranges from court cupboards to a trio of stuffed toy foxes in riding clothes that were advertising figures. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.
Featured is a fine, highly carved oak court cupboard (below) dated 1675, which was previously owned by the British fashion designer Jasper Conran.
Just as impressive is a large trestle-base refectory with its 2½-inch-thick polished top.
Just for fun are the three stuffed toy foxes in riding clothes that originally served as advertising figures for a Saddler’s store.
The sale also includes an additional private collection of works by Sylvett David/Lydia Corbett the artist and potter well known for being Picasso’s muse.
