NEW YORK – Italian glass, for all its candy colors and fantastical forms, is a treasure to behold. It has been produced on the island of Murano, near Venice since the 13th century.
A collection of more than 100 examples from 20th century Italian designers and glassmakers will be sold at an auction May 28 by Last Chance by LiveAuctioneers.

Italian designer Toni Zuccheri created this Murano hanging lamp for Venini circa 1967-1968. The orange and textured art glass pendant lampshade is from the Ninfee series and is 20 1/2 inches in diameter.
