CHICAGO – 2021 was a year of records at Hindman Auctions. The auction firm reported $87 million in total sales for the year, its highest total by a wide margin in the company’s 39-year history, setting more than 30 individual auction records along the way.

BOSTON (AP) – Artifacts once owned by Paul Revere’s family have been sold at auction for $20,000. The items were found in the attic of a home in Canton, Massachusetts, believed to have been owned by the family of the legendary Revolutionary War figure, The Boston Globe reports.

BOSTON (AP) – One of the first coins minted in Colonial New England, which was recently found among other coins in a candy tin, has sold at auction for more than $350,000, more than it was expected to get, the auctioneer said November 26.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) – A cassette tape with a 33-minute audio recording of John Lennon being interviewed by four Danish teenagers 51 years ago as well as an apparently unpublished song by the late Beatle fetched 370,000 kroner ($58,240) September 28 at an auction in Denmark.

NEW YORK — A new world auction record for a printed work by a woman was established at Christie’s New York for the first edition of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, which sold for $1,170,000, above an estimate of $200,000-$300,000.  Auctioneer Gemma Sudlow fielded bids from Christie’s phone bidders, who participated from around the world.
