NEW YORK – Hindman announces that Leslie Roskind has joined the firm’s recently launched New York office as senior specialist for jewelry and watches. Roskind will deepen the firm’s jewelry and watches presence in New York and the greater Northeast. She joins Ruth Thuston, a senior specialist in jewelry and watches based in Hindman’s Chicago headquarters, and the well-established Chicago, Palm Beach, Denver, and San Diego Jewelry & Watches team to develop the firm’s jewelry auctions.

Roskind brings nearly three decades of auction, retail and wholesale experience. Most recently she served as senior specialist and interim head of jewelry for Bonhams in Hong Kong. As head of the department, she collaborated with teams in New York, Taipei, Singapore and Sydney and notably expanded sales, widened the buyer base, and guided the local team to achieve its most profitable year since 2018. Prior to joining Bonhams, Roskind worked for Christie’s Jewelry department for 17 years, in both New York and Los Angeles, during which she handled significant collections such as jewels and gems from Elizabeth Taylor, Ellen Barkin, and Jacqueline Delubac. Roskind also previously served as director of acquisitions at Fred Leighton, where she oversaw the buying of coveted vintage jewelry.

Roskind holds a bachelor of arts in history from Boston University. She is a graduate of the Gemological Institute of America with a graduate gemologist degree and is a member of the American Society of Jewelry Historians, Gem X, and the Glitterati.

“Leslie’s international experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow Hindman New York,” said Hindman Managing Director for the New York Region Gemma Sudlow. “Her appointment underscores our dedication to developing the firm’s presence across all collecting categories in the Northeast as we look towards an exciting fall season.”

“We are delighted to welcome Leslie to the department and are excited by the impressive range of experience that she will bring,” said Ruth Thuston. “Pairing her distinctive expertise with our existing Jewelry & Watches team will be a great resource for the firm as we continue to grow.”

“I’m excited to join Hindman’s New York office and to be working with such a successful team throughout the country,” said Leslie Roskind. “It’s a pleasure to join the firm as the business continues to evolve, and I’m looking forward to bringing exceptional collections to market.”
