In Memoriam: Jack V. Ogle, Texas auctioneer, 82

DALLAS – Jack Van Ogle, 82, of Krugerville, Texas, died at his home on Monday, Jan. 9, surrounded by his family.

He was a past president and Hall of Fame member of the Texas Auctioneers Association and once served on the board of directors of the National Auctioneers Association. He was one of the original instructors at the Texas Auction Academy.

Jack Ogle was born Jan. 23, 1929 to Hal and Birdie Ogle in Garland, Texas, where he grew up and attended Garland High School. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps he graduated from East Texas State University. He married Bonnie Joan Stout on Aug. 30, 1951 in Gainesville, Texas. He was a successful contractor and auctioneer and an accomplished horseman.

His wife, Bonnie, preceded him in death. He is survived by a son, Hal V. Ogle (Melinda), and daughters Laurie Ogle, Karen Clark (Jeff), and Kristy Ogle.

Services will be at noon Friday, Jan. 13, at the Abbey Chapel in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. Interment will be at Restland under the direction of Slay Memorial Funeral Center of Aubrey, Texas, where informal visitation may be made Thursday, Jan. 12.
