NEW YORK – In December 2021, iconic celebrity interior designer and vintage dealer Nate Berkus opened a flagship New York gallery at Showplace. Showplace also welcomed the openings of Detour Gallery and Meryl Antiques, with Gallery 925 set to open in February.

Located on West 25th Street at the crossroads of Manhattan’s landmark Flatiron, NoMad and Chelsea districts for more than two decades, Showplace is a premier shopping destination for buyers seeking the best in art, design, fashion and vintage. Showplace echoes the style and sophistication of its buzzing neighborhood.

At Showplace, Berkus offers a highly curated selection of objects, art and furnishings collected from around the world. Berkus’s never ending search for objects and furniture with history and meaning will be on display and available for purchase.

“Showplace has long been one of my favorite places in New York City to buy vintage home decor. The new renovations have elevated it to a first-class sourcing destination, one that I’m excited to be a part of,” said Berkus. The collection highlights his well-traveled style and includes objects from the 17th century to the present day.

Detour Gallery represents an exciting roster of contemporary artists along with a strong collection of blue chip prints and multiples.  “We believe Detour Gallery’s collection will inspire designers along with new and experienced collectors” said Showplace owner Amos Balaish. Detour showcases emerging artists including Esteban Jimenez Guerra, Jame Andrew Brown, Willie Torbert, and Kremena Lefterova along with blue chip pieces by Helmut Newton, Auguste Rodin, Andy Warhol, Robert Rauchenber and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Gallery 925 is relocating to New York from San Francisco and is set to open in February 2022. It offers the finest in 20th century modern silver jewelry, holloware and flatware, showcasing important makers including Georg Jensen, Buccellati, Alan Adler, Evald Nielsen, Peer Smed, William Spratling, Antonio Pineda, Hector Aguilar and Puiforcat.

Meryl Antiques brings a blend of luxury goods including handbags, scarves, and accessories along with antique silver to Showplace. The gallery presents a refined collection of luxury goods with texture and history.

Showplace is open seven days a week from 10am to 7pm Eastern time. It is also present on LiveAuctioneers in the form of Auctions at Showplace.
