NEW YORK – (ACNI) The winning bidder of the black leather jacket and skin-tight stretch-satin pants Olivia Newton-John famously wore in the film Grease has been revealed as Spanx founder and CEO Sara Blakely. The shapewear billionaire appeared on today’s edition of CBS This Morning and confirmed she was the buyer.

Blakely told the show’s co-hosts that a friend had alerted her that Newton-John’s iconic movie costume was going to be offered on November 2 at the Los Angeles auction house Julien’s to benefit the entertainer’s cancer research and wellness center in Australia. A Newton-John fan since childhood, Blakely immediately made arrangements for a friend to bid on her behalf by phone.
Blakely paid $405,700 for the two-piece outfit, which she says will be framed and displayed at Spanx headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
