Hermes and David Webb showcased in Contemporary Treasures Jewelry Auction Oct. 13

NEW YORK – Breathtaking pieces by Hermès, David Webb and a host of other jewelry design wizards will compete for top-lot status at Jasper52’s Contemporary Treasures: Jewelry Auction, which will be presented on Friday, October 13, starting at 8 pm Eastern time. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

The 377-lot sale boasts a rich parade of treasures from the likes of Bulgari, Cartier, Graff, De Grisogono, Chopard, Roberto Coin, Carrera y Carrera, and Chaumet, to name just a few. The chosen highlights are something else again, however. They include two pieces by Hermès and one by David Webb.

First up is a supremely elegant Hermès 18K gold, diamond and malachite swan brooch, estimated at $8,000-$10,000 and described as ‘vintage.’

Also from Hermès is an 18K rose gold and diamond Alchimie bracelet, estimated at $101,000-$121,000. The piece, which references several of the French house’s most iconic motifs, features 4.71 carats of diamonds. Though it is singular, its design gives the impression that the wearer has donned a set of matching bracelets.

Completing the highlights is a frog brooch by David Webb, rendered in 18K gold, platinum, diamond, ruby and enamel. Dating to the 1960s, it is estimated at $13,000-$16,000.

The 1970s-era David Webb ring features a 1.50-carat oval brilliant-cut diamond accented with rubies and diamonds set in 18K gold. It carries an estimate of $25,000-$30,000.

A gorgeous Hemmerle ruby, emerald and 18K gold brooch is designed with its leaves and its stem carrying invisibly set French-cut rubies. Each leaf features a pear-shape emerald in the center. The brooch is estimated at $34,000-$41,000.

Designed in a geometric style, a wide and shiny retro bracelet made of 18K yellow, white and rose gold, is comprised of the gold square pyramids connected by invisible hinges. It is estimated at $14,000-$17,000.
