BERLIN – The auction house Jeschke Jadi achieved a world auction record in its June 23 Modern and Contemporary Art sale with Kopf, a modernist bronze head made in 1995 by the German artist Hede Buhl. In a bidding battle that lasted several minutes, an American defeated four German private collectors for the prize, which sold for more than €27,000 with the buyer’s premium. Absentee and Internet live bidding was facilitated by LiveAuctioneers.
