GENEVA (AP) – Pablo Picasso’s family is not selling a digital asset linked to one of his works after all. After a granddaughter and great-grandson of the artist trumpeted the upcoming sale, lawyers for the family said Thursday that his heirs have not authorized the launch of any such “Picasso NFT.” An intra-family disagreement has cropped up over it.

PARIS – In October, a collector’s edition of France’s favorite news brand, 20 Minutes, will appear as an NFT (non-fungible token). For the first time in France, a unique digital copy of a newspaper title will be sold during a charity auction organized in October by the PIASA auction house for the benefit of the International Federation of Journalists (Federation internationale des journalistes, or FIJ). It carries an estimate of €2,000-€3,000. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.
