Books written and owned by Mark Twain brought top-shelf prices at Potter & Potter

CHICAGO – Potter & Potter Auctions held its first book sale of 2023, a 531-lot event, on February 16. At the end of a long day of spirited bidding, the auction realized more than $630,000 and had a 95% sell through rate.

DALLAS – Heritage Auctions’ Feb. 22 Historical Manuscripts Signature® Auction will feature Samuel Clemens’s, aka Mark Twain’s, personally owned Williams No. 6 typewriter, one of the most remarkable American literary relics of the 20th century. It was one of the last typewriters owned by one of the most popular and important American authors, and it has an estimate of $20,000-$30,000.
