POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – According to the real estate websites TopTenRealEstateDeals.com, the ten most expensive homes for sale in the U.S. are all in California and Florida except for one listing in Dallas, Texas.
The list — sourced from Movoto.com — shows five California homes, including Michael Jackson’s former Neverland Ranch (shown above), which is listed for $100 million; and four Florida homes.
Renamed “Sycamore Valley Ranch,” the former Jackson residence is the ultimate ranch retreat and gated estate, on approximately 2,698 acres five miles north of the town of Los Olivos. The main residence of approximately 12,598 square feet and has six bedrooms, including a large first-floor master suite with a private loft and two master baths.
The home was designed by Robert Altevers for William Bone in a French Normandy style and built in 1982. The home is nestled between extensively landscaped gardens and a four-acre lake complete with a waterfall and pastoral views to the south and majestic mountain views to the north. The #1 home on Movoto’s list, with an asking price of $159 million, is Le Palais Royal in Hillsboro, Florida, situated near a long stretch of Pompano Beach. It is currently under construction and will feature such luxury extras as an ice skating rink, nightclub and an IMAX theater.
