LONDON – Founded 185 years ago, Harrods has become the world’s most famous department store. Reimagining their historic Knightsbridge store as a cultural hub, Harrods is collaborating with renowned artists and designers to showcase inspirational collections that explore new ideas and concepts; inviting Zaha Hadid Design to present a selection of works in the store until March 1, 2020.

In a career spanning four decades, Zaha Hadid’s pioneering vision redefined architecture and design for the 21st century and captured imaginations across the globe. She established ZHD with co-directors Maha Kutay and Woody Yao, reinterpreting the relationships inherent throughout her architecture in designs for products, lighting, furniture and finishes.

ZHD continues Hadid’s inventive methodology and process; sharing her story and its significance within the dialogue of contemporary design.

Showcasing their partnerships with iconic brands as well as their own-label collections, each piece presented by ZHD at Harrods conveys design innovation and immaculate craftsmanship; including collaborations with Bulgari, Lalique, Slamp, Citco, Alessi, Marburg and Royal Thai.

“The strength of the collections lie in our ability to interpret the ordinary into something unexpected. When designing objects, Zaha was never constrained by any given use or spatial context. We continue to follow this approach with an unwavering commitment to design ingenuity and material integrity,” said Woody Yao, ZHD co-director.

“Zaha Hadid Design at Harrods” is presented in the Home & Furniture Rooms at Harrods Interiors (third floor), 87-135 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London. Hours are Monday-Friday: 10 a.m.–9 p.m. and Sunday: 11:30 a.m.–6 p.m. (browsing only, 11:30 a.m.–noon).
