NEW YORK (AP) – A large-format camera used by 20th-century photographer Ansel Adams to record some of the nation’s most enduring images is going on the auction block in New York this month.

Heritage Auctions is offering the Arca-Swiss 4-by-5 view camera on Oct. 27. It says the camera and Adams’ three lenses, a tripod, a case and other accessories could fetch more than $70,000.

The items are being sold by heirs of Adams’ assistant Lillian DeCock.

Adams used the camera between 1964 and 1968. He then gave the camera and accessories to her.

Among photographs he captured with the camera is a work called Arches, North Court, Mission San Xavier del Bac, Tucson, Arizona, 1968.
