LOS ANGELES – One of the most talked about pieces in Julien’s Auctions’ Street & Urban Art sale May 2 was a sculpture titled The Emperor Has No Balls also known as “the naked Trump statue.” The life-size sculpture depicting President Donald Trump sold for $28,000, above its original estimate of $20,000.
The buyer was Zak Bagans, the paranormal investigator and host of Travel Channel’s series Ghost Adventures, who plans to display the infamous statue in Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum in Las Vegas.
The work created in August 2016 by West Coast anarchist collective INDECLINE is the last one remaining not vandalized or destroyed. The series of controversial statues appeared in public spaces in New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Cleveland and Los Angeles weeks before the then-presidential nominee was sworn into office.
