NEW YORK – Containing 16,000 actual prices and 2,500 color photographs, the new edition of Kovels’ Antiques and Collectibles Price Guide 2020 (Black Dog & Leventhal) by Terry Kovel and Kim Kovel will be on bookshelves Tuesday, Sept. 24.
The Kovels are the most trusted source for both the casual and the expert collector. Kovels’ Antiques And Collectibles Price Guide 2020 features well-organized, wide-ranging, up-to-the-minute information, and includes more tips, marks, logos and photographs than any other antiques price guide.
Unlike other guides, which focus on high-priced items, Kovels’ 2020 prices the American and international items used and collected in American homes. The book is organized by categories most sought-after by collectors, including toys, glass, advertising, furniture, silver, pictures, sports, jewelry, ceramics and more. It remains the only guide with prices based on actual sales during the year, never estimates.
Indexes, cross-references, and tips throughout empower readers to collect with confidence and price their own antiques. Now in its 52nd edition, Kovels’ 2020 price guide also includes a special illustrated section, “Collecting Trends: Iconic Designers of Twentieth-Century Furniture.”
Terry Kovel has been a lifelong collector and is an expert on collecting antiques. She has written more than 100 books on antiques and collectibles. She writes a nationally syndicated newspaper column, a subscriber newsletter, an e-newsletter, and a popular website Kovels.com. Terry lives in Cleveland, Ohio.
Kim Kovel, daughter of Terry and Ralph Kovel, caught the collecting bug as a child, growing up in a house filled with antiques and traveling regularly to antique shows and flea markets all over the country. She runs the Kovels’ website and has spent the last 10 years as an author on the Kovels’ price guides and other Kovel projects.
