FAIRMOUNT, Ind. (AP) – A gallery devoted to the life of James Dean is back in the Hollywood icon’s Indiana hometown a quarter of a century after it opened its doors.
The James Dean Gallery has moved twice since it opened in Fairmount in 1988, but it’s now back in a Victorian home in the town about midway between Fort Wayne and Indianapolis.
Owners David Loehr and Lenny Prussack moved the gallery back to Fairmount after a move to a site in Gas City shortly before the recession left Loehr saddled with debt.
Loehr tells The News-Sentinel he now feels like he’s starting all over.
He sold some of his big-ticket Dean memorabilia to pay off his debts, but the gallery still contains plenty of items.
