Fire destroys 3 buildings in Adirondack village

WARRENSBURG, N.Y. (AP) – A fire has destroyed three buildings housing several businesses in an Adirondack village known for its antique shops.

The Post-Star of Glens Falls reports that the blaze started around 7 a.m. Monday in a building that is home to numerous businesses in Warrensburg, 60 miles north of Albany. A building that housed an antiques store and a barn behind a transmission shop were also destroyed or gutted, while three other buildings were damaged.

The newspaper reports that seven vehicles and two boats stored in one of the buildings were also destroyed.

At least seven fire departments from the Warrensburg area in the southeastern Adirondacks helped battle the blaze.

There was no immediate information on a possible cause.
