WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) – The Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach has announced a $60 million renovation slated to add 15,000 square feet of space.
Groundbreaking is expected next year, which is the 75th anniversary of the Norton’s opening.
The plans call for a new auditorium, classrooms, a restaurant and 12,000 square feet of new gallery space.
The museum says it has already raised more than $34 million toward the project. The Palm Beach Post reports that the anticipated completion date is 2018.
