Boca Raton Museum of Art announces reopening

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Boca Raton Museum of Art (BRMA) will reopen to the public on Wednesday, June 3. The new public hours are 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., Wednesday  through Sunday), with new Member Mornings held Thursday through Saturday starting at 10 am. Additionally, the museum is offering free admission to all guests through September of this year, as a way of giving back to the community.  The reopening plan has been developed in accordance with guidelines from the State of Florida, Palm Beach County, and the City of Boca Raton, and are subject to change, should there be unforeseen issues in the future.

BRMA is fortunate to be able to extend exhibitions that were due to close in June. The revised exhibition schedule is as follows:

In consideration of the safety of visitors and staff, the museum has created a robust cleaning and sanitizing schedule and will follow guidelines regarding capacity limits. Masks will be required (with a limited number of masks available for purchase in the Museum Store), and social-distancing will be in effect in all galleries and during check-in.  A limited number of lockers will be available for guest use to store personal items.

Guests are encouraged to use the hand-sanitizing stations placed throughout the museum. Additionally, cash-free and touchless payment options will be available at the Museum Store and lobby desk.  For the time being, there will be no docent tours or scheduled programs.

Enjoy the museum’s exhibitions online:

Not everyone can visit the museum in person, but they will be able to enjoy exhibitions online. Since the museum’s temporary closure on March 16, BRMA’s online channels have stepped up to the new challenge brought on by the pandemic and continue to serve all. The museum’s extensive digital resources feature more than 40 online programs, including virtual tours and programs.

New architectural renovations:

During the last 11 weeks of BRMA’s temporary closure due to COVID 19, the museum has continued to move forward on the many projects that were in progress, including the renovation of the Jody Harrison Grass Lobby and Wolgin Education Center.  Museum visitors will be able to enjoy these new, transformed areas as a space of inspiration and repose.
