Portland (Maine) Museum of Art receives $3 million gift

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) – The Portland Museum of Art has received a $3 million gift from the family of a trustee and longtime supporter who died in March.

The museum says the gift – one of the biggest in the past decade – came from the family of Emily Eaton Moore, who served on museum committees over the years and was passionate about the museum and its collection. In the early 1980s, she served as the museum’s assistant director and acting director.

Moore died of heart failure in March. She was 60.
