SOUTH ELGIN, Ill. (AP) – Members of a Fox Valley vehicle club are restoring a 1919 Model T Coupe for the Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home in Dixon.

Steve Angvick and Bob Stauffer are members of the Fox Valley chapter of the Model T Ford Club International. The Courier-News reports the men saw the vehicle when they toured the Reagan museum. It is similar to the one Reagan learned to drive, but a tour guide told them it wasn’t drivable.

Club member Maurice Dyer says members decided to get the car in running condition. The club drove the vehicle to South Elgin in a trailer to be rehabbed. The engine was sent to be rebuilt in Ohio.

When they’re done members will form an antique-vehicle caravan to drive the Model T back to Dixon.
