  • Russia has produced exquisite art for centuries — think Faberge eggs and Imperial enameled silver. But there’s a burgeoning contemporary art scene there as well.   • The late Boston rocker John “J” Geils, who passed away in April, was as infatuated with motoring as he was with music. He drove in auto races and collected exotic Italian cars.   • Starting Nov. 13, Madison Square Park’s central Oval Lawn will be blanketed by a small blizzard of incandescent light when Austrian-born artist Erwin Redl installs his public artwork Whiteout.
