LOS ANGELES – Hollywood A-listers turned out for a VIP preview of items from designer Tommy Hilfiger’s private collection last night. The diverse collection, which reflects Hilfiger’s flawless approach to classic American style, will be auctioned on Saturday, October 21. Julien’s – world famous for its auctions of celebrity and entertainment memorabilia – hosted the event at a pop-up gallery in LA and will conduct the live sale at their gallery, with absentee and Internet live bidding available through LiveAuctioneers.
LiveAuctioneers was honored to be invited to the upbeat affair. Among those who represented the company were Board Member and CEO Jason Finger and his wife, Stefanie; and Head of Sales Erwin Hungerbuhler.
Talent manager and reality star Kris Jenner arrived with Corey Gamble. Both would be familiar to those who watch the hit TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, now in its 14th season.
Stars and other invited guests had an opportunity to view auction highlights that included four signed and dated (1995) David Bowie tarot prints, a pair of jeans worn by Marilyn Monroe in the 1954 film River of No Return, a Hilfiger-signed Gibson ES-335 guitar, Hermes furniture, including pair of Pippa folding chairs with folding stool; and a pair of red, white and blue KISS-style platform boots.
One of Hollywood’s most glamorous married couples, Lisa Rinna (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) and Harry Hamlin (Shooter), attended the preview, along with their daughters Amelia Gray Hamlin and Delilah Belle Hamlin.
Music royalty from multiple generations enjoyed browsing the auction items, among them producer/composer and winner of 28 Grammy Awards, Quincy Jones; and hip hop artist/record producer Swizz Beatz.
Tommy Hilfiger’s love of both Americana and rock music was evident in the array of auction items on display, including these wild-looking platform boots emblazoned with stars and stripes, and the British Union Jack.
