J.K. Galleries holding pre-move sales Sept. 3 and 10

August. 9, 2006

J.K. Galleries, Inc. of Deerfield Beach, Fla., will be moving to newer larger quarters in the International Jewelers Exchange in Boca Raton in late September, but before that happens, owner Jay Kielstock will present one more opportunity for bidders to acquire fine jewelry and artwork, with real-time Internet bidding through LiveAuctioneers.com in association with eBay Live Auctions.

J.K. will offer more than 700 lots over two days, Sept. 3 and Sept. 10. All merchandise will be offered with few or no reserves other than the scrap value of jewelry. The sale will feature lots from estates in Massachusetts, New York City and two from Palm Beach, with other consignments liberally mixed in. Each session will contain approximately 350 lots.

In addition to jewelry, the inventory includes important paintings, art pottery, art glass, collectibles and antiques. The catalog is awash with names like Newcomb, Weller, Roseville, Rookwood, Handel, Pairpoint, Lalique, Steuben and Tiffany. Included are a number of Rookwood vellum plaques, several pieces of old majolica, a large Weller Glendale urn, a 15in Roseville Brown Pine Cone floor vase, an 18in Tiffany yellow Favrile enameled bronze base-mounted vase marked on the base, and a beautifully decorated 7in tall Boston & Sandwich Fire Glo covered urn.
