The Shipping process is a mess
It is amateurish to require auction winners to contact the auction house first to receive shipping options, then to contact third-party shippers. Not buying from Sarasota again.

Excellent Seller/Auction House
Customer service was outstanding. The pick-up experience onsite exceeded my expectations with the amount of help offered. Everyone on the staff was friendly and cheerful (that, in itself, says a lot). They even carried items out to the car for me. Wow!:) All items were exactly as described. A smooth and easy transaction in all aspects. These were my first purchases from this auction house, but I'm sure I will be back for more. Thanks!

Great Auction House; packaging and shipping somewhat problematical
The auction itself is wonderful; packaging and shipping is a little excessive; moreover, UPS (who are subcontracted) charge the receiver for a "brokerage fee", which I suspect is not even legal. (I did not hire them.) Les

Beware of truly exorbitant shipping costs
I was pleased to win an auction at $450 before auctioneers fees. I was stunned to learn this would cost about $400 to ship (by ground service). The shipping company seemed offended at my complaints and insisted that $85 to box this framed print were very reasonable. While I was only about 600 miles away, it took 10-12 days for me to receive the item. Perhaps because I had complained so much, shipping came in at under $400. All total, this item cost me nearly $1, 000 and is really worth about $400. I like the print, but will never again deal with Sarasota Estate Auction.
