Sent wrong item, THIS IS A SCAM!

Won an item in an auction on July 4th. It is now OCTOBER!!! I made payment up front, never got any updates. I tried contacting via phone and live auctioneer messages, no response. Today (October 3rd) they took an additional 50 bucks from my checking account without my permission. I attempted contact, could not get anyone to answer the phone. 10 minutes later, someone calls back, says that 50 bucks is a shipping charge. I asked this person if they knew what was being shipped, they had no clue. I questioned a $50 shipping charge on an unknown item and was told that my item is heavy. How would they know? He had no clue what was sent to me. Furthermore, they could not tell me if the item was sent fedex, UPS or US mail, only that "We ship items out by the hundreds, we have been backed up". One thing is for certain, I will NEVER deal with this auction house again. A complaint was lodged with live auctioneers, yet it has not really gone anywhere. As someone who makes a living buying, selling, and shipping items, I can say that this is by far the WORST experience I have ever had. I finish by saying, make sure what you bid on is worth the headache of trying to get it sent to you.

I won an auction and called to make the payment. My credit card was charged by Baker’s but I never received the item. To make matters worse, they never responded to my emails or phone calls.

I have four outstanding items from Baker's Antiques and Auctions, one being almost five weeks. I got this item within a week, but I have not received the others, nor have I received a response from Baker's with tracking numbers.

In the past Baker has always been slow but great folks and goods always arrived timely. This most recent purchase, called for payment immediately following auction closing, paid with CC. today is Sept. 9, 2020 no merchandise, NO RESPONSE to many, many messages etc. They are good folks so not sure what is going on there past few months. Proceed at your own discretion.

I had to call this place twice just to get them to mail the package I'd won more than a month previous, and after I finally did get it-disappointed in the item, because it was described poorly int he listing-they charged me again. Same amount I'd paid two months earlier. I guess they're so unused to delivering items to customers, they figure they should get a bonus for actually doing it. There are a lot better auction houses out there-shop elsewhere.

I won two lots from these folks, and I received the comics in shrinkwrap. I would strongly recommend communicating with them before they ship your items that they be shipped bagged and not shrinkwrapped. Luckily my lots weren't damaged, but there could be significant issues with others.

From start to finish the whole process was handled professionally & in a timely manner. Overall A +. Thank you.

I have not recieved any responses from this aiction house after calling (leaving a message), messaging them via LiveAuctioneers, as well as a direct email. Their phone always goes to messaging and they leave thier customets in the dark.

Won July 24th, payment and S & H processed in my bank, from their call to me (should have been a red flag), never received an invoice, items still shown unpaid on LiveAuctioneers website, and a month later still do not have my items. I have emailed them twice with no response. I do not recommend you do business with this auction house if you aren't willing to deal with the hassel.

This Auction House has not sent me my items from May 27th or July. I have asked them about it and they ignore me.... When I called to make my payment for item I purchased, in second auction (at this point I assumed the previous item had not shipped due to corona,... I was wrong) and I inquired about where my first items I purchased were, the man taking my payment info all of a sudden couldn't wait to get off the phone. He made all kinds excuses as to why I hadn't received my items yet. These people are thieves.

It was so hard to get payment to them after an auction with multiple crossed voice mails, emails and phone calls. The auction was May 20, 2020 and the item was promptly paid for. It took until July 29, 2020 with several contacts from Live Auctioneers to settle this and not just receive my item, but get a response for an update on the status of shipping. I understand it may take longer beyond the auction date to ship, but after several unanswered emails and messages, it took Live Auctioneers intervention to get it resolved.

This company uses multiple names which should be a red flag. They don't use the billing system with in the auction site. They don't send invoices for you to pay but rather just run your credit card that they have on file, and will keep running until you tell them to stop and then they charge you 30 dollars each time they do. I bought one item under 50.00 and by the time they had finished i owed over 200 and if i didn't pay they were going to black list me from the site. I have dealt with at least 20 other auction houses on this site that use the billing system and even send out invoices that allow you to pay at your leisure instead of just running your card when they see fit to do so. I don't recommend this auction house at all i would look to other more reputable auction houses. If anybody wants proof or has any questions feel free to email me at ********** and i can clearly explain and back up my claims.

Although quick to process payment, they are not available for questions or emails. As of this date, the items have not shipped. I contacted Live Auctioneers for help and they finally were able to speak to them. They claim they don't have the staff to ship; however, they do have the staff to continue to have auctions. Maybe a reallocation of resources would be in order for this auction hours.

Bakers has no ability to manage or track shipment. I am very disappointed that I have to keep following up. Lots of promises but no delivery.

Would you believe, I was called post auction to arrange payment? Packing to ship was done promptly, and my kitty arrived home immediately. I will visit again!

i got a box that was suppose to be disney and barbie and i got a box with easter chocolate, pez bars and alot of junk items. none were disney or barbie. i had to waste the whole box in the trash. edible goods should not be sold at an auction. Sorry I won't buy items like this again.

my bid won on the may 10th auction. it was paid in full on the 12 of may and I never received the item, I have email them twice and have had no response just been ignored. I would not recommend doing business with them.

They aren’t set up for on line auctions. Although responsive to my inquiries, it’s clear they are overwhelmed. The auctions continue before previous merchandise is shipped. I like Bakers and their responsiveness but if you win, be prepared to wait.

Eclectic offerings, low starting bids, reasonable inhouse shipping, & quick delivery. Same experience in 2 separate auctions. I now follow this auction house & recommend.

I won an auction item on 4/24 and paid quickly with my credit card. It is now 5/15 and the item has never been received.

Al, I will be slowly cutting back a bit. I would be interested in cards mainly. Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve

I believe they closed down permanently. They took my payment and never received the item. They never responded back. So I called my bank to file a dispute charge. Live and learn.

Very Disappointed in lack of respect given to paying clients.......... I've purchased from over 100 auctions houses over the years, even a number of them during the current Corona Challenges. Clear and Honest Communication Matters. This auction house is quick to call you, next business day asking for payment. They didn't read their emails, the one I sent the day of the auction, which I detailed all payment and shipping information. Additionally, dispute telling me item would ship out in a day or two.......... it didn't ship out for a 10 days. When I paid I requested a tracking number be emailed to me, which I don't receive. I waited and finally had to call them 2 wks later for a tracking number. Only to be told then that they ship out in multiples of 100???? Ha? They could not give me tracking information and called me back 6 hours later. Item was not shipped to the address I requested. Item I was told was in "good condition", Item is bronze and came in dented and split. Based on how it was "over wrapped" I have no reason to believe it was damaged in shipping. I realize this auction house mainly sells baseball cards, but I bought a !, 200.00 item.......... now looking at their very bad client reviews onliveauction.com I have to ask the question to LIVE AUCTION, WHY ARE YOU ALLOWING THIS AUCTION HOUSE TO BE ON YOUR ON YOUR WEB SITE? BUT HONESTLY............ When you call this auction they have no answering machine........ even during normal non corona times. They don't answer emails?? VERY DISAPPOINTED, WILL NOT BE BIDDING ON ANOTHER ITEM FROM THIS AUCTION HOUSE IN THE FUTURE, NO MATTER HOW RARE THE ITEM MAY BE.
