Four tiny items, weighs under 1/2 lb No in house shipping. UPS wanted $75 plus for a $30 purchase
Not a place for buying. A place for shipping over charging & excessive shipping fees. We called & no return calls or emails. They don't care. re sold our items & never issued us a refund.

Terrible, rude staffer
This was my first experience picking anything up from The Benefit Shop-a drive if more than an hour from my North Jersey home. The man whom I approached about where my items were said "We never should have allowed you to bid in this auction." He said they two years ago, I bid in two items in a Benefit Shop auction and never paid for it picked up my items. I said that could not be correct. He insisted that I was sent multiple emails about it but never responded. Again, I said that's not possible. I said that I buy from LuveAuctioneers auctions often and I have a perfect rating. He kept digging and said I had two accounts in my name, one of them created with an email account that I pointed out was clearly invalid. (It ended ingmaol.com) it was this account that his organization had repeatedly emailed. Instead of apologizing for benefit shop's error, he insisted that only I could have created that invalid account and that the entire issue was my fault. He said the only way I could get a black mark off my account was to pay $45 for the long-gone items I never picked up-which were not even items I would have ever bid on. Eventually, he said that he was gonna kill the phony account, but they he was transferring the unresolved payment to my correct account. On top of this, he did not retrieve my items, the way most auctioneers do, but just pointed me to two numbered areas, where I had to pick through a lot of stuff yo find my items. I would never use this place again, even though they get very nice donations. As another unhappy customer put it, the philosophy here seems to be "The customer is as always wrong." As someone who buys a lot in online auctions, I had to say that I found the attitude at this place absolutely shocking. Terrible, terrible experience.

Friendly, Helpful and easy to work with.
UPS Store # 0306, which was one of 3 shippers recommended, is a wonderful shipper to use. AJ bent over backwards to save me money.

No
I felt that the shipping charges were too high so I probably won't use this auction site again. Thank you

Great place for cool retro items that don't cost an arm and a leg
I've bought a few items here and recently picked up the latest auction round. Items were easy to find in warehouse and as described. All in all, I've been happy with everything I've won at The Benefit Shop Foundation auctions.

My main problem with LiveAuctioneers has to do with shipping. With some auctions the cost of shipping is way out of line and difficult to arrange. Each auction company should have an in house shipping option with a way to calculate the cost. This opinion deals with small size items.

The Benefit Shop's shipping co. charged me $95.00 US to maill 27 postcards.
I donated the 27 postcards I won back to the Benefit Shop. I did this because the company that provides mailing services for the Benefit Shop wanted to charge me 95.00 dollars. The Benefit Shop expressed no concern regarding the exorbitant mailing cost. I asked that its staff mail the postcards for $25.00 plus cost to mail, but I just received a reference to its Terms and Conditions. No I get notices from the Benefit Shop on upcoming auctions and I did not consent to receive the notices,. I donated the postcards back to the BS.

Lack of integrity
When the piece of art arrived it wasn't a lithograph. It was cheap print from the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It was so new the paper had a shine.

Stay away from this place
Stay away from this place. They receive donated item and add 29 % premium to the order. They don't ship so you have to use an outside vendor. I paid $27 for shipping of the 6 page brochure via post office. Rip off. Seriously stay away from that place.

BAIT & SWITCH
This auction house lacks both honesty and integrity. When presented with a material error in their lot listing, they refused to accept responsibility. It clearly listed a quantity of 6, but they only had a quantity of 2 available. The price paid was not reasonable for a quantity of 2 and would never have been bid as high. In my fairly vast experience buying at auction, this house stands out as one of the worst I have had the pleasure to work with. Because they only accept wire transfers for invoices over $1, 000 there is no recourse. That alone was a red flag. Never again, and you shouldn't either.

Cheap to buy absolutely absurd shipping costs.
Almost free to buy but 1200 dollars to ship it. Feels like a total scam. Don't buy anything from this auction house unless you can go across the country and pick it up yourself. The shipping costs are insane. Not even close to realistic.

Very dishonest business!!
They DO NOT SHIP!!! and shipping cost is INSANE if you arrange shipping using agents provided by them! Management is terrible. They even can confiscate your items if you do not pick up them on time. This business dishonest and should not be exist! Pure scam!

ALEX, We clearly note in our terms and conditions that WE DO NOT SHIP as you indicated. If you read our Website, our Terms & Conditions and the emails sent with your invoices the local shippers are SUGGESTED. You DO NOT have to use them. You may pick up your lots yourself, assign someone else to pick up or locate and hire any shipper of your choice. Were sorry for your experience but in the future you should read all terms & conditions BEFORE Bidding.

Great Selections!
I’ve bought things from The Benefit Shop many times and what I like most is the wide variety of items that they have in their auctions. A treasure hunt every time and they tell you exactly what each item is and have multiple photos.
