I won this auction here on Live Auctioneers. I was the highest bidder and somehow Hermann nver sent the item. When I contacted them they say that I did not win the auction and they sent to someone else. Very strange, as here on live auctioneers I am clearly identified as the winer and my "highest" bid possible was set for much higher. When I contacted Live Auctioneers, they were of zero help, did not care. I guess part of the issue is with not only the auction house of Hermann, but also with this platform as they do not stand by what they represent. I think that in such cases this platform should ban the auction houses that have either such practices or whos technology is not set up properly to match theirs......

I have mostly positive feelings about this purchase. This is an old house and they have a lot of knowledge about what they sell and their descriptions are very accurate and truthful, the quality of the goods is also quite high with no unpleasant surprises. It took about a week and a half to get invoiced which was reasonable as they had a lot on their plate and shipping time seemed reasonable as well. The only real problem was they ship even antique muzzle loaders only by air freight which meant having to drive to a lufthansa air freight terminal a hundred miles away and spend a couple hours waiting in line as well as a shipping price over six hundred dollars for a package little bigger than a shoebox. The hammer price was heavenly, plus the house cut, still pleasing, plus air freight plus all that driving it seems less enticing. I do not know if this is because of German law or just house rules, perhaps for security.

The item was as shown and genuine, due to lag on web and speed of auction I actually got the next item which was sinilar so no problem on that. Packaging was very good. Problem with communication regarding export costs it took a over two months to reply which led to 5 months from auction to receipt. Be aware you have to pay export licence fee so cost that in, in advance on basis that you may or may not get it, a risk I don't like even if it is unlikely to be refused. e700 hammer price became e1012 final cost. On the whole a good company with good items however the whole process was not a good one.

The quality of the items is superb; however, it took over 2 months from the auction date to receive the items, and that was only because I had to chase them for an invoice and a delivery date. Communication was sub-standard, and most often, no one replied to my inquiries. The items I purchased in a November 20th, 2019 auction were supposed to be a Christmas gift and there should have been more than sufficient time to receive them; however, I did not receive them until January 23 2020.

i won an item and paid for it immediately-it cost over $3000. But ITEM was not shipped to me, and my many emails to the seller HAVE NOT BEEN ANSWERED.

They are dishonest, unprofessional, and unscrupulous. I won an auction of a signed Manfred Von Richthofen card and heard nothing for a week. I contacted them and they said they would send the invoice in a few days. Here it is more than two weeks later and they still haven't sent the invoice and they are ignoring all of my communication. They are refusing to sell me the item that I won in their auction, perhaps because it didn't sell for what they wanted. Dishonest seller, stay away!
