I was very pleased with my experience with Champagne Auctions. It was my first time participating in an auction and I was not quite sure what to expect. I received an invoice shortly after and contacted them to request shipping. The payment was easy and I received the item less than one week later. I've been following Champagne Auctions for years and I'm always impressed by the high quality of items offered at their multiple yearly auction sales. I have both bought and sold with them. Their staff is helpful, honest and easily accessible. Preview times are generous and convenient allowing for leisurely up-close inspections. Though smaller than other more inveterate auction houses, they are competitive and hold their own. Doing business with them is a pleasure!

The only reason I probably would not bid with them again is that the shipping was quite high but that was due to the auction house being located in Canada.

Item description lacked some details, but overall very satisfied with the service, in particular very good in-house shipping rates. Nicely packed frames and postal service charges cheaper than for an equivalent service locally in the US. Fast response on the phone.

Exceptional experience, as usual!

My item was not packaged very well and was damaged in shipment. We are working on a solution now. So far they have been very concerned about the damage and I am confident things will be taken care of soon.

This item got shipped to me by FedEx without asking for a signature. And it was delivered to my front door while I was not home and got stolen. Filed a police report.

The shipping issue was not their fault... really. The used Canada Post, which got the painting to the U. S. border the day after they shipped it (acc. to tracking). It's when it reached the U. S. that things went totally bonkers. The painting was rerouted through my town not just once but twice as it got sent back and forth between post offices for no apparent reason. For example, arrived Dulles Airport, sent to Sterling VA, then sent back to Dulles Airport. Finally got to my town... only to be sent on to another town, and another, and then to a town 600 miles away before finally (FINALLY) arriving back in my town and at my house... 1 1/2 months after it was shipped from Montreal. So Champagne... and all other auction houses... please think twice before using Canada Post to send to a U. S. destination. Our President (not much longer, thank goodness) has totally screwed up the U. S. Postal Service. I think American bidders would be quite happy to be given the option to pay a bit more to ship via DHL or FedEx instead.
