Auction House commission is too high. This is a general comment applicable to many auction houses.

2 things-the auctioneer started bidding at lower prices than ones stated by live auctioneers. Fellows included shipping the item-awesome and not something other auction houses do BUT-original price quoted has now changed and i need to pay double original quote. all of this was disclosed after auction and payment of item. a bit disappointing.

Hello We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed. The Auctioneer will occasionally start below the Low Estimate but the bidding clerk should adjust the first bid to accommodate this. Our shipping is based on most items being under 2kg in weight, if it was heavier than this then we would have increased the fee. This is clearly detailed in our Terms & Conditions. Comunications take a lot of time. Few times I had to contact them by phone to make sure they give me the correct info. Shipping service is reliable, but it can be probably down to the post problems.

Shipping price is very high (recently raised) and makes it very unappealing if you only buy one item. I feel it should be tiered, such as 1-2 items 15 pounds 3 + 30 pounds. The higher shipping price has put me off bidding unless I am sure I will be successful in multiple lots.

Shipping information was difficult. I wanted to know who the US carrier would be for my purchase once the package arrived at Kennedy, NY., and how to track the package domestically. Fellows customer service and shipping were vague, and had no idea of the US shipper. I was not informed of the delivery, and the package came via US mail. Luckily my wife was home to accept it.

Indeed a very nice experience, thank you very much. Sadly the pocket watch received in a damaged condition: the pinion of the balance was broken and I ´ ve to send it to a watchmaker for repair. Perhaps the parcel was thrown or fell on the ground, who knows. Kind regards

I bought a brooch that was Garnets with a replacement garnet when I received the item the replacement garnet was missing. I feel they should have contacted me when they noticed the damage before shipping as they are in England and I am in America. There isn't really any way for me to prove to them that it happened in the auction house and of corse it isn't like I can return it. I love the brooch and I am going to keep it I'm just a tad worried about bidding with them again. I did not contact them about it as it just isn't worth it.

The Auction are a great place to find all kind of antic items but first the 20 % Buyer Premium are killing a possible bid, and then the need to find a shipping company could be a nightmare too, especially when shipping cost are more expensive than the items.... You will need to have a kind of contract with some shipping company with a special prices, otherwise I don't think to bid again, except for a very valuable item.

I paid for purchases immediately. I never got an email as to when products would be shipped. I sent email and first got no response. I sent a second email which I received a reply "product will be sent as soon as possible" By time I received this email, watches already arrived. No effort made to look into my query. This is quite obvious that had no idea that not only were watches sent but also that they had arrived

I find Fellows very easy to work with. Their payment process is easy and shipping too is very easy for the small items (jewelry) that I buy. I've gotten things from another UK auction house, but the process of getting the items to me takes longer and more costly. Email correspondence with them about payments and shipping are also very easy and good. The problem I have, however, is the bidding process. I've had several instances I've sent my bids and the screen said my bids were sent but then lots ended with the bids lower than mine. I guess there is some kind of timing glitch, but I hope the timing of bidding improves. Nothing more frustrating than not winning the bids when I submit my bids higher than hammered price.

I bought a lot comprising of 3 pieces of furniture, paid the quotation to the shipping company based on these three items (GBP 150), and when we came to pick up, one item (dining room table) was missing and we were told it was a cataloguing mistake. I have asked fellows for compensation. I was never informed by them of that mistake. I will not join their auctions any longer.

Fellows is probably the best auction house that I have dealt with. Their shipping is very good and very inexpensive. They provide many photos and condition reports for each auction. They are great!

I very much appreciate when shipping is handled in-house, it's often the only way I can coordinate bidding on auctions outside of the US. Fellows does a wonderful job with that.

In general I really like working with this auction house. However, one of the packages I received was very improperly packaged and I was lucky the items did not arrive damaged. A couple of times items had more flaws than expected, but that seems par for the course for most auctions. Overall, they have been good.

The pieces were not accurately described in terms of the types of porcelain (e. g., they were listed as children's pieces when most were not) and there was major damage that was not disclosed or displayed. Additionally, the shipper that they recommended quoted a price of $260 and, when questioned, lowered the price to $106. Very, very disappointed and will not use again.

For its cost, I thought the packaging quality was poor. Whilst the item arrived with no damage, I didn't think it represented the charge made for it.

It was my first time bidding on something overseas, intimidating but painless in the end! Two things, Fellows never did actually approve me to bid in the sale so that was an awkward thing, I just got on & bid anyway & my bid went through. But to someone who didn't know they might not check back to bid. I knew what I wanted so I kept checking to see if I'd been authorized. Secondly, I did send questions that weren't returned. I figured it out in the end but it was kind of frustrating. ** besides the points here, Is there anyway to link international shipping with tracking points in the us through live auctioneers? There were three weeks of unaccounted for time/location of my goods after they left the uk and it was soooo scary not knowing what would become of them!

hello, i do online auctions all over the world. i do a auction whit fellows, after a few days my laptop and personal things are stolen from my house in bali, where i stay during the time from the auction. i have here a house fore over 25 years. the beauty off the internet is that you cann do all over the world you business. i contact direct my auctions house where i do business whit and also fellows. the answer was from fellows, whe are whaiting on you when you are back home and maje a notice that you personal stuff are stolen. please do the payment whit your bank card ore telephone. sound easy when you gott everything is stolen!!? after the mail she opend a dispute whit unpaid item. and blocked me from my business, and auction houses where i work whit. its that the treatment fore clients from lifeauctioneers? best regards, richard **********

This time they took 22 days and two phone calls before sending my items. In a previous occasion they took a month and finally they could not send one of the items because they could not find it in their warehouse! For payment I don't appreciate that they don't take Amexp.
