not as bad as some... but i suspect one object was run up.... with no other counter bidders... will probably not use this company again..

Overpriced 3rd party shipping services and overly high commissions are the bane of the auction world as every buyer is aware. It can be done better as some houses have most reasonable in house shipping (Woodys, Richard Hatch, and some others) and more reasonable commissions. I always prefer to buy from these places when possible.

Considering the steep online premium, taxes, and shipping, I would probably go elsewhere in the future.

The item I bought was repaired. However, there was no mention of a repair and it was not pictured.

Dealing with UPS was not easy! They over charged over packed and were slower than USPS snail mail! Very expensive!!!

A good honest old fashioned auction house.

We have been attending Conestoga auctions since 1968. Always satisfied. Thanks so much for being an honest and competitive auctioneer. The quality of your sales and service now sets standards of excellence. The folks in the office are always knowledgeable and cordial, a pleasure to deal with. I know from observation that all the folks who handle merchandise (Lets face it-art and artifacts) are professional and systematic. Their ability to bring about such fast turnover between sales is admirable. Only suggestion is that a little more care be given to loading things with loose backboards and/or drawers that might fall out. Damage upon loading is always a potential, but should not occur more than once in a blue moon. I have been loading furniture for forty years with my husband who can no longer help me. I need careful help, and, must now rely on the assistance from your staff to load a vehicle safely. I have glue and clamps, but please, just a few more seconds to ascertain the stability of furniture that cant be loaded upright would be appreciated. Meanwhile, on to the next Harry Hartman sale. The new Conestoga just isn't like the old Conestoga. The new shipping policy is very poor. One is required to use the UPS store that Conestoga specifies (which is actually further away than other closer shipping stores-even UPS stores). That store then demands up-front, full payment for shipping and services BEFORE it even collects, packages, and prices the shipment of the piece. The shipping price is exorbitant. Buyers have a legal right to contract one's own shipper. The whole auction process is an interstate transaction (PA for auction house, NY for liveauctioneers, and TX for me). I am completely unsatisfied with the shipping situation.

I would buy from them again.
