The cast iron leg was broken in multiple spots. Now it makes sense why the man at the auction house held that side when helping me move it. He was holding it together so I couldn't see all the broken spots. Be very cautious on what you buy. It would have been impossible for me to see the broken spots in the pictures. Its ludicrous that someone would sell something so broken.

This was my first experience purchasing items from this auction house and I am thrilled to say that the experience was most enjoyable. I had a very nice conversation with the owners related to antique items and clocks and I am sure to be doing business with this company in the future!

The pieces I purchased were both reasonable and so was the shipping costs. There was a delay in shipping that turned out to be caused by the USPS Priority Mail delayed mail time that is slowing its mail down in certain mail zones affecting the delivery times. It wasn't caused by anything JMW did. Once I received what I'd won at auction, it was worth the wait. I was pleasantly surprised by some of the pieces I'd won in a lot that I wasn't expecting to be so impressive. Like a glass vase that's very solid; a pitcher from an old upstate NY hotel; and a figural dog w/hat (chomping a cigar.) I purchased the lot for the Swiss music box, though the other pieces I find are just as unique. If I had any questions, (such as the delays in shipping by the US postal service that was just beginning around that time, and have only gotten worse since,) JMW was always ready with a response and quality customer service.

If winning a bid on a firearm be aware due to the auction house being located in N. Y. it may take a little longer to receive. Description was pretty much non-existent however, the item I won was in better than expected condition and very happy with the process.

It has been a real hassle receiving my item. It has been over 3 weeks and I have complied with every process promptly.

JMW Auction Service is an excellent auction venue, whether you are a buyer or a seller. Jay is an outstanding auctioneer possessing excellent knowledge and a very rapid fire presentation. Jay is extremely honest and settles accounts promptly (Unfortunately these seem to be rare qualities with other auction houses.).
